Control and Surrender

I am reposting the article below because it resonates deeply.

I find it is very seductive to be drawn into a cycle of controlling our life and even other’s.  Sometimes the forward moving energy of life can carry a very subtle feeling of how we are now is not good enough.  Yes, we can cultivate intention, we can pay attention and be mindful, but often there is a greater mystery unfolding that will arise in contrast to our intentions and expectations, and it may not even make any rational sense.  Believing we can always control things can be a relentless and unforgiving cycle.  Finding the balance between intention and surrender is a very delicate one.

John Donahue puts it well, “We are so busy trying to manage our life, that we cover over this great mystery that we are involved in”.
