Control and Surrender
I am reposting the article below because it resonates deeply.
I find it is very seductive to be drawn into a cycle of controlling our life and even other’s. Sometimes the forward moving energy of life can carry a very subtle feeling of how we are now is not good enough. Yes, we can cultivate intention, we can pay attention and be mindful, but often there is a greater mystery unfolding that will arise in contrast to our intentions and expectations, and it may not even make any rational sense. Believing we can always control things can be a relentless and unforgiving cycle. Finding the balance between intention and surrender is a very delicate one.
John Donahue puts it well, “We are so busy trying to manage our life, that we cover over this great mystery that we are involved in”.
