Dear Blog, Thank you!
I have been writing a lot lately. Some of the writings are in support of students who are taking classes. Other writings are in direct support of myself and in moving through experience and life. Somehow, the vulnerable act of putting something in words and then sharing it allows me to honor more of my experience, irregardless of who reads it. By putting it out there, I tell myself it is ok to feel my way through an experience that is as perfect, as it is imperfect. I remember making my initial posts here and feeling scared and vulnerable. Slowly, as I shared more authentically, I realized the act of sharing was a kind of personal catharsis. I don’t have to pretend to have it all figured out. I can stumble and fall along the way and share what I am learning, if only for me to revisit in the future.
So, thank you to modern day technology. In the process of creating a blog, I have come across the beautiful writings of others as well. Perhaps, we can all share, connect and heal in this way. As impersonal as it may seem at times, it can feel deeply personal when someone else’s words describe your exact experience. In that moment, you know it is ok. Each of us is traversing this very human experience to find some meaning. We are on a journey that is leading us to exactly where we need to be. If I find a way to remain open and receptive, I’ll receive the lessons and teachings, the joys and the sorrows exactly as they were meant for me and I trust that growth and wisdom will follow in its own time.
